Jim Freeman

Attorney

Jim Freeman started practicing law in 2000 after graduating from DePaul University College of Law.  After law school he worked for a personal injury firm representing victims of negligence.  In 2002 he went to work for a defense firm representing insurance companies litigating an array of personal injury cases.  In 2006, Jim left to open his own practice.  Seven years later he partnered with Brendan Kevenides to form Freeman Kevenides Law Firm LLC.

Freeman Kevenides Law Firm LLC has two offices spanning three states.  Our Iowa office, opened in 2014, is located in Fairfield, Iowa.  We have attorneys licensed to practice in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.

Matthew W. Johnson

Associate Attorney

Matt Johnson joined the Freeman Kevenides Law Firm in 2017. Prior to beginning at Freeman Kevenides, Matt practiced law for five years at one of Chicago’s preeminent medical malpractice defense litigation firms. His previous legal practice was concentrated in the areas of medical malpractice, health care, professional liability, and premises liability. Matt’s experience on the defense side of complex litigation gives him invaluable insight as to the mindset and tactics of opposing counsel as he advocates on behalf of his clients.
 
Matt graduated from the DePaul University College of Law in 2012, earning both a Juris Doctor and an advanced certification in Health Law. Matt graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2009, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.  He is licensed to practice law in Iowa and Illinois.

Anne Alt

Paralegal

Anne received a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language and Literature from Northwestern University in 1984. She received a certificate in Fine Art Photography from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 1993. She completed a certificate program in Nonprofit Management at University of Illinois, Chicago in 2011.  Anne Alt joined the Law Offices of James Freeman, now the Freeman Kevenides Law Firm, in June of 2012 as a paralegal. Her previous law firm experience includes insurance defense, corporate, real estate and other practice areas. 

Bob Matter

Paralegal

Bob received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Supervision in 1982 from Purdue University.  In 1987 he received a Post Baccalaureate certificate in Computer Programming from Purdue.  He is also a graduate of the Political Economy program from Henry George School of Social Science.  Bob joined the Law Offices of James M. Freeman, now the Freeman Kevenides Law Firm, in August of 2008. He is an indispensable asset to the firm. Bob is an investigator and paralegal.
